So, it seems Ultra Violet is the hue du jour and Prince (God rest his soul) was way ahead of his time and indeed, so 2018, not just 1999! Personally, ever since THAT Ganni jumper in the most beautiful shade of soft lilac, I have had a whole new perspective on all things purple, but I’ve not yet jumped in with a purchase. So I thought I’d do a bit of research and see what’s out there to scratch that particular colour itch. But first, a little bit of inspo – courtesy of Pinterest – just to get us in the zone.A masterclass here on how to wear purple: different shades matched together; as an accent colour paired with another bright – absolutely LOVE it against the red; chic paired with grey; luxe in different fabrics… so much to love here, I want to wear it all!Gorgeous paired with red, with blue, with yellow and/or black – I hadn’t realised just how versatile and how many colour match options purple could present, meaning one or two ultra violet trend purchases can still work in harmony with much of what you’ll already have in your wardrobe: from denim jeans, to beloved bags.Love how this regal colour works for street-style and casual, through to an edgier take on work-wear, right up to on-trend evening glam. Just gorgeous. And note, if you’re still unconvinced, you can jump in with a nod to a purple by just opting for a pair of trainers in the colour of the year, paired with an all back (or is that navy?) look. Stunning.
Okay, so now we’re all inspired, let me share some of my finds – all available right now. Starting at the top, let’s look at high-end (for anyone wanting to make an investment purchase or get further aspirational inspo!):
