Can it be done? Is it possible to buy a great gift for someone for £10 or under? – I think it is. So for all of you needing to buy a little something for a friend, a child’s teacher, a secret Santa recipient or someone you just want to show a token of appreciation towards without breaking the bank, here are a few of my favourite things, £10 or under. Get shopping!
Des Petits Hauts Laugustine Apple Brooch (£10)I’ve talked about these before, but honestly I think they are the best bargain – £10 for a little piece of French designer sparkly gorgeousness. An apple for the teacher anyone? Available in gold or black, they are the perfect way to add a bit of flair to a knit or jacket. Available at Feather & Stitch.
Pastel Leather Bag Tassel (£8)
Aren’t these just so pretty? These gorgeous handmade pastel leather tassels are £8 each from Baytree Boutique and would be a lovely gift for someone to add to their keys or to refresh a favourite bag. They’re 4.5 inches long including the swivel clasp and are made from sourced off-cuts of leather that would otherwise go to waste. Also available in a range of other colours.
Sari Frame, Portrait, 4×6″ (£9.95)This super simple yet super stylish hanging frame is made from recycled glass and hangs with recycled sari cord (colours vary). I just love the way you could use it to frame a memento like an old ticket or Photo Booth pic, a scribbled note, something a little different to your standard photo frame and makes for a lovely gift. Available from Mimosa Street online.
Seedball Tin, Urban Meadow (£5.50)Also available from Mimosa Street are these rather fantastic Seedball tins – great for the nature lover in your life! There are lots of different varieties from this Urban Meadow tin to a bee friendly mix and they provide a simple way to grow wildflowers. Made from a unique blend of wildflower seed, clay (to protect the seed from ants, mice, birds etc), peat free compost (to give seeds a boost) and chilli powder (an extra predator deterrent) there’s no need to plant them you just scatter on top of soil or compost to grow beautiful wildflowers. Can be used in gardens, on balconies and in window boxes and are best scattered in Spring or Autumn.
Gold Monogram Mug (£8)Anthropologie has SO many gorgeous things under £10, it’s hard to showcase just one thing, but year on year I just LOVE these gold monogram mugs for a bit of of a Christmas glitz gift. Who doesn’t love a special mug from which to drink their morning coffee or reviving afternoon cuppa? And these are the business – chunky, porcelain and in limited edition golden gleam. Available in letters A through to Z.
Flutter Scotch Cocoa Dusted Truffle Gift (£6)Words literally can not describe how bloody amazing these chocolates are, trust me. I’ve been slowly but surely working my way through all their flavour varieties since my sister gifted me a box at Easter and my goodness they are incredible. Anyone on the receiving end of a box of these will be seriously happy – available at Waitrose, Whole Foods, and other supermarkets as well as online.
